The Art of Surfing Festival is a 16 year old art festival that takes place every summer in Ocean City, NJ. For the last 16 years the festival has afforded these surf artists the opportunity to exhibit and sell their art. It isn’t everyday you find an art festival or art show that is strictly dedicated to surf art. We are proud to combine two important cultures together. Every year we descend on the Historic Music Pier on the World Famous Ocean City Boardwalk and hold the three day festival.
It all started 16 years ago, when we owned an art gallery on Asbury Ave. We thought, what if we held a little art show at our gallery. The first questions we had was, “Would people show up?” So we went out on a limb and held the show and advertised as best as we could at the time. We were sweating bullets leading up to the doors be opened, but we were blown away by the turn out! Our little gallery was packed!
A lot has happened since then, though we no longer have the gallery, we still hold the festival every year. The Historic Music Pier, on the World Famous OCNJ Boardwalk, is now our home! Every year the artists gather inside the air conditioned building and set up their unique booths to display and sell their gorgeous pieces of art. Every night we have live entertainment outside rocking out under the portico. Every year we always have something new an exciting, and this year is no exception!!
